Musicians from Lanark Village, Carrabelle, Apalachicola, Havana, Sopchoppy and Tallahassee, Florida play together to preserve and share traditional Scottish music. Several north Florida musicians met at a local jam session in 2004 and discovered a common love of traditional Scottish music.

The Group holds jams, practice sessions and concerts throughout North Florida. They host an annual Tartan Day Celebration on the first Sunday in April. Anyone who is inspired to play, sing or dance to this music is invited to contact the group. Ability to read music is helpful but not necessary. They have musicians who play fiddles, flutes, penny whistles, dulcimers, guitars and in our percussion section we have drummers who play the traditional bodhran as well as standard drums. The group is looking for fiddlers as well as flute, accordion and keyboard players. Singers and dancers are always welcome.

The Lanark Scottish Fiddle Orchestra has worked with the NE Florida Scottish Games in the Jacksonville area. All donations and monies earned are used to sponsor travel for the group and scholarships for young fiddler to attend Celtic music camp.
